Executive Director's Message
Welcome to the Charyl Stockwell Academy District!
The mission of the Charyl Stockwell Academy District is to provide a safe and enriching place for children to grow from early childhood through adolescence, while providing those children with a rigorous education that will prepare them for their success in college, career, and life. We are deeply committed to providing a need-fulfilling environment that educates the whole child, with high expectations for quality work and academic performance. Our K-12 educational model addresses the intellectual, social/emotional, physical, and moral/character development of each individual child. The educational methodologies we utilize are grounded in best educational practice that is confirmed by extensive research.
Intellectual rigor in a warm and nurturing environment free of coercive methods and interventions is central to our mission. Research on the brain and learning presents compelling evidence that children of all ages must feel emotionally safe in a school setting in order to fully maximize their learning potential.
We use a continuous progress/mastery learning model with a component for the academically gifted student to insure intellectual challenge and rigor. We promote methods that build upon every child’s intrinsic motivation to learn to insure an emotionally safe and need-fulfilling environment. The moral development of our students is addressed in a curriculum infused with a strong character education program.
Charyl Stockwell Academy District offers parents a quality choice for their child’s education from Kindergarten through 12th grade. The elementary program is located in Hartland, and the secondary program is located in Brighton. The learning culture in both schools has a private school feel at a public school expense: no tuition.
We are very proud of what our CSA District stands for in today’s public school arena. It is a viable choice for discerning parents who are looking for a school district with a strong and vital mission to provide quality school programs that meet the educational needs of all the students in the district.
