Student Leadership
Middle School
Student Government
CSA Middle School Student Government promotes a sense of shared spirit between the Middle School community and the District community through coordinated activities and events. Student Government representatives further develop their skills of leadership, communication, working collaboratively and creatively. They act as ambassadors for the Middle School and model the District’s core philosophies of high expectations, internal motivation, mastery learning, and Smart Character Choices.
Middle School Student Government sponsors and coordinates events such as Spirit Days, Activity Nights, Adopt-a-Family, Wellness Day and, in conjunction with the National Junior Honor Society, the annual Book Bingo event.
National Junior Honor Society
The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) recognizes and involves outstanding Middle School students across the nation. Our Middle School hosts a NJHS chapter. The five pillars of NJHS membership - scholarship, service, leadership, character, citizenship - reflect and reinforce our District’s commitment to these values. Students who have met a number of requirements including the five pillars of membership are invited to apply for NJHS in the spring. Induction occurs in the fall.
Our NJHS chapter sponsors a hat, glove and scarf drive, tour groups of last year Elementary students during their visit to the Middle School and, in conjunction with the Middle School Student Government, run the annual Book Bingo event.
High School
Student Government
CSPA High School Student Government increases the individual level of students’ commitment to their school. Student Government elected officials have numerous leadership opportunities as well as challenges. They model and are examples of the characteristics of an intentional and purposeful student.
High School Student Government sponsors and coordinates events that enhance school spirit and build a sense of community. They sponsor “Hike for Heat” and implement Spirit Days throughout the year. They help plan large events such as the Fall Ball, Spirit Week, the Winter Dance and the Junior/Senior Prom. They develop service events that benefit surrounding communities.
National Honor Society
The National Honor Society (NHS) recognizes and involves outstanding High School students across the nation. Our High School hosts a NHS chapter. The four pillars of NHS membership - character, service, leadership, scholarship - reflect and reinforce our District’s commitment to these values. Students who have met a number of requirements including the four pillars of membership are invited to apply for NHS in the spring. Induction occurs in the fall.
NHS students lead a number of service activities to benefit the local community including raking leaves for the elderly, cemetery clean-up, bell ringing for the Salvation Army and assisting at the Brighton Library’s Used Book Drive.
